Leadership is both challenging and a privilege, and increasingly important in a fast paced changing and complex world. The coach is uniquely placed to provide a confidential and safe space for leaders to speak entirely freely and openly, and to provide a supportive challenge to develop the resources and potential of both the leader and those they lead.
As well as holding leadership roles at both operational and Board level, I have coached and mentored partners and directors across a range of sectors. I love working with leaders and am inspired by the courage, skill and commitment I see in them, often more than they see in themselves.
Whilst there are a range of powerful models to assist with leadership coaching, my approach is to treat each leader, the system and situations they are navigating as unique, and draw on models only to the extent they can be effectively applied in a bespoke and impactful way.
I am a published author on “Leadership and Executive Coaching” (Coach’s Casebook 2023), and have written on “Leadership and Coaching” for Association for Coaching (Coaching Perspectives January 2024).
“Rob combined his experience of working at strategic level with excellent coaching skills to help me navigate some significant challenges as a director. These included some difficult relationships with other directors, developing my influence in relation to the Board, and leading my team. The result is that I am now operating in a more strategic and influential space, which has been recognised by the business. Rob enabled me find my own voice in relation to these challenges, helping me both become a better leader and happier in my personal life.”
